Subtitled "The Remix Album" this picks up where Superstar
DJ Keoki's latest full length Jealousy left off. Producers in
many genres pick up the tracks and give em a thorough "re-rubbing"
from top to bottom with mostly fresh results. Highlights include
up and coming trance producer Joshua Ryan, who turns "Smile"
into a menacing, tribal influenced progressive powerhouse. Icelandic
super heroes GusGus provide the best track with a wicked electro
remix of "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" that sounds like it stepped out
straight out of the 1980s. LA junglist DJ Hive brings his signature
sci-fi infused drum & bass to "Realize" and Uberzone does a
balls-out nu skool breaks take on "Real World" complete with
spleen rupturing bass drops. Misdirected Jealousy at first glance
may seem like yet another electronica compilation is an already
over saturated market but the remixes were well-selected and
sequenced making it a better overall listen than the original.
This one is well worth checking out even if you are not a fan
of Keoki.
