The year 2001 was the year everything changed, for better or
for worse. America lost its virginity as far being excluded
from the big global dance and it was also the year that many
of the rave promoters were singled out by the government for
being drug peddlers of the lowest common denominator. Is the
Man really to blame? The feds may be an easy target to pick
on but let's face it it's the promoter's vibe and music , not
the Man, that fuels the imaginations and hormones. Cyberfest
2001-Sounds Of The Digital Revolution Vol. 2 is proof positive
that lately the goods these latter day PT Barnums have been
trying to sell the unwashed masses are tainted. But each massive
is now laden with all kinds of hype and persecution hysteria
to make it seem worthy of the high dollars both DJ and promoter
demand. Get real! A compilation comprised of bland tracks, b-side
filler material, and just plain crapola (the band Planet B,
anyone?) make any CD buyer feel ripped off. On Cyberfest 2001-Sounds
Of The Digital Revolution Vol. 2 the garbage far outweighs the
nuggets on this12 song "wish you were" sampler. Let's hope there
isn't a volume three.
